Starting a Collective Kitchen Training

Le Regroupement des cuisines collectives du Québec (RCCQ) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and consolidate emerging and existing collective kitchen in Québec. In order to do this, among other things, RCCQ offers the Starting a Collective Kitchen Training.

The objectives of this training are to offer participants, the knowledge and tools necessary to start and operate smoothly a collective kitchen group.

 


Contents of the training

This training is given over two days. During the first day, participants learn about the history of collective kitchens while they get acquainted with the activities, the values and the philosophy of collective kitchens members of the RCCQ. It makes us understand the importance of the four stages of the collective kitchen which are: planning, grocery chopping, cooking and evaluation).

The second day consists essentially in living an experience of collective kitchen to better seize the dynamics within. Exercises and sketches are on the program of this pleasant day.

Who can benefit?

This training is offered to everybody who wishes to develop or to consolidate a group of collective kitchen, who is interested in eating healthy and who want a better quality of life. Starting a Collective Kitchen Training is available for any group of ten persons and more. A certificate as well as a Toolbox is handed to each participant.


Toolbox

The Toolbox contains over one hundred pages. It is a reference document, to improve the functioning of a collective kitchen. In it, we find information concerning the history and the definition of collective kitchens, kitchen equipment, partners, fund raising methods, recruitment and the four stages of a collective kitchen. It contains templates for planning, budget, grocery shopping and evaluation, table of measures and more.


What is the cost of this training?

The cost is $50 per participants and includes the following documents :
The Toolbox and the participant handbook.
